The Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation had the pleasure of exhibiting at the WALC 2019 Conference. We enjoyed the opportunity to connect with conference attendees and share information and resources about two of our programs, First Breath and GrapeVine.
- First Breath is a is a free, statewide program that helps pregnant women, new moms, and their families quit smoking. Healthcare staff are trained to Ask, Advise, and Refer smokers to the Wisconsin’s Women’s Health Foundation (WWHF). WWHF Quit Coaches provide smoking cessation counseling.
- GrapeVine trains nurses to lead health education sessions in their communities. Nurses complete annual training on WWHF curricula developed with input from academic partners. They then use toolkits to provide free one-hour education sessions on women’s health topics. The goal is to educate Wisconsin women about disease prevention and healthy lifestyle changes.
