Conference highlights:
Attendees will learn how to use skin-to-skin contact as a critical intervention as they care for infants and their families, including:
• The perinatal neuroscience of skin-to-skin contact
• The neurobehavioral approach to breastfeeding both full-term and premature infants
• The benefits of kangaroo care

Keynote speaker:
Nils Bergman, MD, MB ChB, MPH, began practicing in Cape Town, South Africa, and later worked in Zimbabwe, where he helped develop and implement Kangaroo Mother Care, dramatically improving survival of premature infants. He has given keynote addresses about Kangaroo Care on six continents.

Who should attend:
This conference is geared toward neonatal nurse practitioners, registered nurses, lactation professionals, dietitians and social workers.

Children’s Hospital has applied for continuing education credits for these professionals.
