The Tongue-Tie Workshop is coming up Nov 6th in Appleton and Nov 8th in Milwaukee at the Hilton Garden Inn. This is the same hotel where the LLL Conference is located on the 7th. Would you be able to help us recruit for the Milwaukee date? We have a lot of BFAN members in the Fox Valley recruiting and we are having difficulty finding enough mothers and babies for Milwaukee.
Babies do not need to be breastfed or be tongue-tied. They also do not need to have difficulties feeding. Mothers will receive a $40 gift card (supported by a grant from WALC. Thank you!) in appreciation for their time.

I will sending in group registration again this year for any WALC member interested. This year there have been some changes and you must renew each separately. USLCA group fee is $69 and ILCA is $117. You must download the forms from each site . Since I have to write one check for each group, I am okay if you write one check to WALC if you are renewing or joining both groups.
There have been changes to what your membership includes and I encourage you to read them over before making your decision. I am sending this out before the November meeting so if you would like to give me your paperwork at the meeting you have to print out the forms. If you would like to mail it to me, my address is listed in membership directory. I plan to send in the renewal on December 1st so all forms must me received by then.

The “Tongue Tie Project” is the topic for our next WALC meeting on Tuesday, May 20th in Waupaca, Wisconsin. This project, of the Breastfeeding Alliance of Northeast Wisconsin, was awarded one of the 2013/14 WALC grants. The goal of the project was to expand awareness among providers and begin to build a network of professionals that could treat tongue tie when interfering with breastfeeding. We will learn more about the project, observe an assessment, and hear from a provider that has been doing revisions. CERPS are available and CMEs have been applied for.
