The Breastfeeding Coalition of South Central Wisconsin presents The Office Breastfeeding Nurse Champion Program by The Milk Mob. This is a 16 hour curriculum offered over 2 Saturdays (Sept 13 & Sept. 27) that trains office nurses to perform optimal breastfeeding telephone triage and basic in-person breastfeeding support. Participants will receive breastfeeding triage tools that are easily adapted for electronic medical record systems. Application of the skills learned in this training will need to be within the limits allowed by the participant’s license and employer.
This activity has been submitted to WNA CEAP for approval to award contact hours. Wisconsin Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
*This training program would also be beneficial for public health nurses, doulas, home visitors, WIC peer counselors, La Leche leaders and others who help new mothers breastfeed.
